Power-pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps dropped a new single “Time Slips” today, off their upcoming album “Pop That Goes Crunch”. A savory blend of fuzz-guitar, harmonic vocal melodies, driving bass lines, and solid rock drums makes it a smooth and delicious swallow for fans of jangle-pop, power-pop, and indie rock groups. With five EPs under their belt, “Time Slips” proves a tasty tease of whats yet to come for the band.
“Time Slips” provides a bittersweet and nostalgic reflection for vocalist Drew Forsberg. He shared, “It's a song I wrote about my grandparents, who lived hundreds of miles and a few states away from me. I spent summers with them as a younger kid, and they were incredibly important to me. But after I became a busy (and self-involved) adult, I rarely saw them before their deaths. I still feel guilt and regret over how I drifted out of their lives.”
Forsberg releases these emotions in the track as a cathartic experience, but also encourages others to reach out to those that are important in their lives - before the opportunity passes by.
