The up and coming artist Romain Ughetto has set himself a huge challenge... to release a rock cover album of 00s pop hits, totally revisited. A real challenge, therefore, as the artist has made a point of honor regarding the choice of the songs, by selecting songs from a universe drastically removed from his rock style.
It's after obtaining the financial support of nearly 250 Internet users through a crowdfunding campaign that the record has finally be unveiled under the name “Generation 2000” on February 3rd.
A project carried out in collaboration with Bertrand and Eric from the renowned band Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, already used to the exercise as the band has already appeared twice in the famous compilation “Pop goes Punk” (With covers of Kesha and Smash Mouth).
You can find in this new release covers of “Toxic” by BRITNEY SPEARS (2004), “Viva La Vida” by COLDPLAY (2008), “Cry Me A River” by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE (2002) and also “You’re Beautiful” by JAMES BLUNT (2005) in rock versions!
While waiting for the next music videos to be out, Romain Ughetto has already unveiled a video for his cover of “Viva La Vida” by COLDPLAY on his YouTube channel.
