Malaysian punks Trophy Knives drop "Look The Other Way" music video

If you're a fellow reader of Distrolution, you know that the Asian punk scene is really amazing. Among these killer bands, Trophy Knives is one of our favorites and they're just dropped an awesome music video for their single "Look The Other Way" from their next record to be released in March. “The writing of this record was definitely not conventional, as ideally, we would have loved more studio time to experiment sonically. Having said that, this record was born out of necessity; as we were starting to write demos, the tragic death of George Floyd happened, and as the Black Lives Matter movement gained momentum, we were baffled by the tone deaf comments made by people locally and globally. We were baffled by the way certain individuals have it in themselves to ridicule a movement when they have no idea what it’s like to be a minority. If it sounds like we are angry on this record, it’s because we are. Make no mistake, these are protest songs”, Vinesh Muniandy, vocalist of Trophy Knives explains. “The only reason why certain people can afford to look the other way when it comes to the plight of minorities is because they come from a place of privilege and that needs to change, fast.”, he adds.
