The Bare Minimum are a 4 piece punk rock band hailing from Toronto, Canada. Between irony and nihilism, the band indeed subverts pop songs into meditations on bar culture, post-everything boredom and scene politics.
“'Conspiracy' comes from our 2nd album 'Sink to the Top' released in March 2017. We recorded 'Sink to the Top' DIY in basements and closets scattered around Toronto.” reveals guitarist Mick. He also added:
“We wrote the song with the Ramones' 'Pet Symmetry' in mind, trying to capture our weird interests and hobbies and put them to a really catchy hook. Growing up on punk rock, comic books, and video games; we realized that a lot of our beliefs and interpretations of the world were a bit esoteric and conspiratorial in nature. In the lyrics, we indeed tried to grab from the fridge of the conspiracy community. Not because we agree with their ideas necessarily, but because we wanted to capture the essence of feeling like an outsider.”
