Hypno5e have unveiled their new record, “A Distant (Dark) Source”!

Hello, Hypno5e! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. As a start, would you mind introducing your band to our readers? Hi, Hypno5e is a French Cinematographic Metal band, we were given this label because our music ocillates between several kinds of emotions, as if we were evoking different scenes from a movie. Our songs are long but we avoid any repetition unless we want to create trance. As a consequence, a song can evoke several pictures without any flashback, we're always moving forward as a boat can be sailing in a calm sea or taken into a storm in the middle of the ocean. Somewhere between poetry and violence as we've been said. Your new record, “A Distant (Dark) Source”, is out since November 22nd. What kind of songs can we expect on this new release? There are 5 songs, each lasting between 8 and 18 minutes, made of intricate metal and melancholic melodies. This new album is faster than the four foster ones, the technical side of music has been leveled up. We usually use a lot of spoken voices as samples but here there are more original vocals from the singer, adding guts to the whole. The 5th song, Tauca part.2, is really different from anything we've ever played. It’s an Electronic song and I won't spoil the ending, for all our songs are short stories. How long have you worked on this record? It’s been a year since we've been working on it. We're quite thrilled to get it out, we can’t wait to hear and see the reactions of the audience. We’ll be touring from January 2020 across many countries and we are so ready to play it live! Which song is the one that, according to you, best represents the spirit of this record? The first single which just came out, A distant (dark) source, is a good sample of what we do. The intro could be a song itself, the metal parts are heavy, technical and powerful. This song is about reaching a dark and hidden part within yourself, you know it’s there somewhere, you know it's huge, but you never had the will to face it. What's the story behind your album's artwork? It is a desert, somewhere no one has ever been to, because you are the only one who can reach it, for it is within you. A dry, dark and unlogical place. Will it be the source of a new “you”?

The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance! Colapsologists say that the end of the Capitalocene will take place within 10 years, oil will lack, nuclear power will end… They say it will be the end of the world as we know it. So, if you had to pick One last music album and listen to it as to remember it when electricity will be gone, you should pick A distant (dark) source. Because it will be a good compagnon in those changing times (laughs). Huge thanks for your time!
